Skipping breakfast is something that no one should ever do, even if they are actively trying to lose weight. And if you make sure that the food you eat first thing in the morning is protein packed then it’s even better, as that protein will help fuel you throughout the day and give you an energy boost you’ll feel. Nutritionists say 13-15g of protein is just about the perfect goal.

Although it can be a great source of protein, starting their day with dairy is not something everyone wants to do, especially if they are counting calories. These tasty breakfasts however are all dairy free and they pack at least 15g of protein each while also being  diet friendly and healthy:

Dairy Free Vanilla Smoothie

Vanilla-Milkshake-Smoothie

This easy to make smoothie is completely dairy free and calls for just four ingredients; tofu, vanilla soy milk, frozen banana, and peanut butter. It tastes just like an expensive milkshake too, but with just 328 calories, it still offers 17.4 grams of protein.

Baked Eggs in Avocado

That’s right, eggs in, not with, avocado, which is something of a ‘superfood’ in itself. If you like to start the day with an egg this is a great and tasty way to do so and it will add 15.2 grams of protein to your daily intake total while only adding 428 calories.

Poached Eggs With Tomato, Swiss Chard, and Chickpeas

Poached-Eggs-Tomato-Swiss-Chard-Chickpeas

Something of a take on the traditional Middle Eastern dish shakshuka, the combination of both eggs and chickpeas in this tasty breakfast scramble will provide you with a whopping  20.1 grams of protein for just 330 calories.

Whip up a batch of these tasty protein balls on the weekend and you’ll have an easy breakfast choice that takes a minute to pop in a bag and eat on the go all week long. And as much as they taste like a rich, sweet treat they actually only have 282 calories per six ball serving and better still, that will add 16.2 grams of protein to start your day.
